Male Pattern Hair Loss ...
Normally, Androgenetic Alopecia occurs in males and this is called Male Pattern Baldness. There are three stages in the progression of Male Pattern Baldness: early stage - men have an oily and/or itchy scalp, a lot of dandruff and gradual hair loss; mid term - less hair on the crown area which is quite obvious; and the late stage - the only hair left is on the back of the head and sides.
Why it happens ...
Male Pattern Hair Loss is, according to Traditional Chinese Medicine, caused by a disturbance in the wind and heat mechanisms in the human body. This causes blood-dryness and poor nutrition for the hair follicle.
How it occurs ...
Male Pattern Hair Loss occurs when testosterone is transformed into the hormone DHT. This causes the hair follicle to gradually become smaller and smaller over time. Consequently, the hair gets smaller and smaller in size. Eventually, the hair becomes so small that it no longer reaches the surface of the scalp. This type of hair loss is not constant, but happens in fits and bursts.

Alopecia Areata and Alopecia Capitalis Totalis ...
Alopecia Areata is a condition where hair loss usually occurs suddenly in circular patches on the scalp. The areas of hair loss are random on the scalp, unlike in Male Pattern Baldness where hair loss occurs in a definite sequence. Alopecia Areata sufferers may also experience hair loss on other parts of the body as well as the scalp. Males, females and children can all experience this condition. A small percentage of sufferers go on to experience total hair loss on the scalp and this is referred to as Alopecia Capitalis Totalis.
For people who suffer from Alopecia Areata and Alopecia Capitalis Totalis, we suggest they try our 101 Hair Formula and use 101 Hair Tonic on the bald area. We also recommend using 101 Hair & Scalp Tonic around the affected site.
Why it happens ...
Presently, it is not known why Alopecia Areata develops, but many cases resolve naturally in time. Even if sufferers undergo no treatment, one third of people with Alopecia Areata will regrow all their original hair within six months and half the people within one year. The rate of recovery for any Alopecia Areata sufferer is quicker with the use of 101 Hair Formula. Also it complements with 101 Hair Tonic and 101 Hair & Scalp Tonic.
How it occurs ...
Alopecia Areata occurs when the body's immune system attacks the hair bulb in people with a certain genetic make up. This misdirected immune system response prevents new hair growth. The hair follicles become dormant but do not die so there is always a chance for hair re-growth.
